For full loan – to ideally stay in Hampshire area (will consider further afield for right home)
16hh chestnut gelding. He is 20y/o but do not let his age put you off, he’s a good doer and has no known health issues. Bailey has been there and done that, I’ve owned him for over 10 years and we’ve pretty much had a go at everything over the years. He is a lovely horse to have around, although he is a horse that likes to get on and do the job. He is not a complete novice ride, he can have his moments but would never do anything purposely to hurt you. He is good to hack alone and in company (although he is strong at anything faster than a walk). He is well schooled and likes to jump (he hasn’t jumped much over the past few years due to no fault of his own). He would suit someone wanting to hack with a bit of schooling/jumping and maybe the odd fun ride/show. Although he is a great doer and acts like a 10y/o, he would not suit a competition home or someone wanting to do a lot as he has worked hard over the years and he deserves a bit of a quieter life.
He would suit a smaller, quieter yard as as we have always kept him at our private yard. He is currently living out but he does prefer to come in during the winter/bad weather, so he would need a stable/field shelter. He is good with mares/geldings/young stock. His only vice is that he is not great in small spaces (he will not travel in a trailer, but perfectly in a lorry with a lot of space) and he also requires sedation for the dentist. Please note he is in VERY light work at the moment and not fit at all, however he is the type of horse you can leave for a while and jump straight on.
Will come with extensive wardrobe and equipment (all his tack and many rugs/accessories).
Signed contracts will be required along with references/yard check, he’s not just going to anyone! More than happy to you to have trial at my yard to make sure he is the right horse for you (based near Winchester). NO under 18s and weight limit of 13 stone. Genuine reason for loan.
