10yo, 14.3hh Skewbald Gelding, Cob x Trotter very sadly for sale. Bobby needs schooling to bring him on to his true potential, I bought him in March, however I can’t get him going for me.
He’s vaccinated and up to date with the dentist and worming, and he’s good to catch and shoe and box. Bobby’s currently shod with front shoes on. Will live in or out (alone or with other horses), but does prefer to be out as much as possible. He will weave and get stressed if stabled too long, although he doesn’t do it continuously. My 6yo son grooms him, and Bobby is happy to stand and let him make a fuss.
He’s a one person pony, ideally suited to a small yard, because he can get his knickers in a twist if a lot is going on around him. Good to hack, although I’ve not tried him in a group. Unfortunately, he will buck, hence why he’s not a novice ride. He needs a strong rider to push him past this. Bobby’s lovely in the school for 10 minutes, but past that he gets frustrated, nappy and will buck or mess about. Unfortunately I can’t get him past the bucking stage, although when he goes well he really is super.
He’s had spinal xrays from the vet in July, which came back with no obvious impingements, and his saddle was checked in August. Bobby hunted in the past, has done a dressage test and has plenty of scope to a fence. He’s also broken to drive, and although, I’ve not done this with him, I’ve seen the videos.
No expenses have been spared in getting this horse right, however I’m clearly not the right person for the job.
Passported and Microchipped.
