Alternative to French link?

Postby Amnell » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:33 pm

Hi Brigitte
I need a little help choosing an alternative bit for my 3 year old Arab Ibrahim.
As he is an arab he has a realtively small mouth and a low palate so I opted for a loose ring French link. However, I am not convinced this is the best bit for him and was wondering if you could offer a suitable alternative that will be comfortable and kind for him but also make the rein aids as clear as is possible and sensible on a young horse.

I have noticed in the March addition of H&R the Mikmar Watson Snaffle is mentioned, is this any good for a young Arab?

Many thanks
Hannah
