Blackberry- my first pony

The first pony i rode wasn't a pony but it was my mum's arab x welsh palamino mare. I was only two and so i was lead around the school by my mum and my dad held me but I loved it!!
I carried on riding at riding schools after my mum's horse died only a couple of weeks after I rode her.
When i was 14 I was lucky enough to get a 14.2hh new forest gelding called Blackberry who was 24 when I got him. He was lovely but a bit tired looking and was very thin when we got him. It was perfect timing getting blackberry as i wasn't very well and having blackberry helped me get better! Since owning him he got a lot better and gained weight, a shiny coat and good muscles (and thrown a few bucks) which i never thought would be possible when he first arrived at the yard. Last September I took him to my first show (which has been a dream of mine since I knew what a show was) and we came first!!! It was the best feeling ever.
Unfortunatly Blackberry was put down a month ago and I really miss him (and strangely I miss waking up at 6.30am to turn him out!)
