Do you still read horsey fiction?

Postby kooksy » Mon Sep 20, 2010 2:59 pm

I have to be honest, I'm getting a bit old for it but I still do sometimes. I also quite like books like Labyrinth that talk about horses in the days gone by that transported everyone from royals to peasants from place to place. How about everyone else?

I love horsey fiction but, despite my age, love the younger readers stories. All about fantasy and mystery!

I do! It helps that my sister is still young enough that I can get away under the guise of reading them to her...

I tend to read more horsey "textbooks" these days but that's not to say I'm not swayed by the horse on the cover of a novel or a mention of horses in the write-up!
It's a lot like nuts and bolts –
if the rider's nuts, the horse bolts!

I do read horsey fiction, and my particular favourites are all about racing. I especially like books for the younger set such as Blind Beauty...

Ah yes, I loved Blind Beauty. Sad but very good.

When I was a kid I used to read all the "Jill" books by Ruby Ferguson. I loved them and if I had time to read them now I would, keeping the whole series is one of my guilty secrets lol!

I still love horsey fiction too, though i don't have many, except for a trilogy about Connemara ponies, the first one called 'The Connemara Whirlwind'.
Still, you know when you're still young and you feel you can do anything, even write stories of your own just for the pure enjoyment of it all? I'm still doing that, and I'm 16...

...and i still have horses in mine.
