Equine Vet nursing

Postby horseygirlgold » Wed Jul 02, 2014 8:01 pm

Hi (I'm 14)
I've always wanted to work with animals and vet nursing seems like a good choice for me even though I still have more school to go I do need to have some sort of plan. Anyway I don't know if I should do small animal vet nursing or equine. I know equine is specialised so would it be harder to find a job? if there is equine vet nurses on here please give me some advice and your experiences x

Definitely train as a vet, and then specialize afterwards.

Then you wont be limited. Jobs are hard to come by and this way you have an option to get a job in either.

And if you decide after veterinary training that you don't want to specialize and study anymore, you have the choice weather to or not but will still have the amazing qualification of a veterinary degree.

Hope this helps!

I'd echo this advice, my niece had the same dilemma and went for the veterinarian course and has since been advised that this is more highly regarded anyway.
Good luck :)
