Pilot study of pain in horse riders

Postby garethrlowen » Wed Oct 03, 2012 2:37 pm

Dear all

I am doing a research project on the prevalence (how common) of pain in horse riders. There is very little research about non-accident/trauma pain in horse riders. If this research shows that there is a marked difference in pain amongst horse riders to the general population it will encourage greater funding into horse rider specific pain and subsequently into the treatment of that pain/discomfort.
If you ride or know anyone that does ride please would you complete the following survey:
http://freeonlinesurveys.com/s.asp?sid= ... 4s10k95200
It takes one to five minutes to complete, no personal data such as names or addresses is needed. If you would like to get sent the outcomes of the research you can opt into receiving one email showing what the research found at the end of the survey.
The greater the response the more likely that research will encourage further funding and thus give more specific treatments for horse riders with pain and discomfort.
Please feel free to pass on to any one that you know that rides.
Many thanks
Gareth Owen

Done - will be interesting to know the results as surely pain in horse riders is normally due to injury/overuse/lifting feed/ etc?
