Random lameness after random things.

Postby CookieComeTrue » Mon Dec 10, 2012 9:47 pm

We were travelling my horse Cookie in July when he became lame. This meant we had to pull out of the show and go home. However, he's ramdomly getting lame after travelling when he was fine before!

Have you checked the suspension etc - could it be too bumpy for him?

Good horsebox, not too bumpy and we have rubber mats aswell.
It's also in the middle of schooling him, we jump only weekly at approx 50cm. Sometimes he's walking and goes lame. I don't understand why. He did injure himself in May so it could be that.

Sounds like you probably need a vet out to assess him as there must be an underlying reason for the lameness. Could be a number of things. Vet will come out, trot up, use hoof testers and check his legs to give you their opinion.
