Horse for husband to ride

It would be wonderful to ride out on the weekend together with my husband - he is sick to death of riding a mountain bike while I cruise along on the horse. He's quite novice, and we don't need to even go out of walk. What do other people do?

A friend of mine started off loaning a big boy for her hubby, once he was bitten by the bug; they bought him. They are now doing well together and teach one another as the go!
