British Eventing

I'm thinking of starting affiliated eventing, does anyone know how much it is for BE membership, and average cost of entry fees (just low level)?

Hi Horse Girl,

British Eventing membership is £130 for the year for yourself and £80 for the year for your horse. You then have to pay your entry fees on top and for intro you are looking at between £48 - £58 plus you will pay a further £10 start fee on the day.

Alternativley you can by a dayticket and this menasthat you don't have to pay the full membership, however it limits you to wntering a max of 4 events a year and in theevent of a ballott which happens fairly frequently you will bethe first to get balloted over full membership riders.

Check out www.britisheventing.com for the membership prices and details.

Blimey, I had no idea it was so expensive! And of course, there's the cost of traveling etc to factor in too. Serious competing is an expensive thing, maybe I'll stick to riding club level...

Ouch, I guess in the grand scheme of horsey costs it's not that much, but still!
It's a lot like nuts and bolts –
if the rider's nuts, the horse bolts!

why is the entry fees so dear?? is it the cross country aspect of it? id have to say those prices would definetley put me off - id be sticking to unaffiliated events i think! you would have to be very serious about eventing.
