Position when riding downhill

Is there an access group that needs your help or a bridleway that needs attention? Maybe you just need help getting your horse past post boxes...

Position when riding downhill

I was always taught to lean back slightly, but am I right in thinking that it is now recommended for riders to sit more upright, fold forwards even?

Really? Some of the hills on the roads we have if I leaned forwards I would fall out the saddle (I hit the ground enough without adding to it). Maybe for slight hills then sitting straight would be accepted but for steeper hills surely the old rules apply.

I totally agree! Some of the hills i rode down meant that i had to lean back if i wanted to stay in the saddle! Also i was always taught to lean back don't know if that is correct but that was whqat i was taught from a young age.
