My Welsh Sec A lives out all winter with a field shelter. He is a hardy native and isn't clipped, but I like to put a lightweight rug on him over the colder and wetter months just to keep him dry more than anything. I have a nightmare with getting rugs to fit him though. Due to his breed, he is very narrow chested and most brands seem to gape at the neck and leak in or rub his chest or shoulders as they're too loose. I've worked out that nylon rather than cotton linings are a must but still haven't managed to find anything which fits well. I've spent a small fortune in previous years buying numerous rugs and having them altered! Can anyone recommend a good brand/ rug suited to small, narrow chested ponies? Thanks!
