Twin foals

I just heard that some twin foals were born in the Bristol area last night and I wondered how rare twin foals are?

Twin foal births are extremely rare - one in ten thousand, in fact!

just seen this - rare also very rare that both make it through the first few days, tb tend to have two embro but only carry one to term, its always a native that can carry twins to full term.

my friends appaloosa mare had healthy twin boys earlier this year - a real surprise as no one knew she was due to have twins... she was just a very big girl!!!!
