What one thing would you change about your horse?

Postby Kaliska » Fri Oct 30, 2009 2:54 pm

Everyone has something that they would change, even if it's only something small.

I would change my horse's mane - because he's an Appaloosa, it tends to be short, then long in the middle and short at the base of his neck, making him really hard to plait neatly!

I would make him younger - and I would have had him longer. That sounds like two things, though.

Well, my bay cob Charlie HATES my mums horse Desi, so much so that when we tried them out together, Charlie chased (charlie's 14 hands and desi's 16.0hh (desi's a right girl!) charlie chased desi over the hedge 3 times and through the fence once! so i would definetly make my horse better with others, but as he's a dream under saddle, i dont mind him beind a DEVIl with others!

Theres some of my horses that I would like to change, and some that I wouldnt.

I would definately want my TBxWB to not be as grumpy - he's such a misery!

I would also love for my newest addition, a little welsh mare, to have confidence in herself with both people and other horses, she's had a tough time lately with her last owner and really struggles with confidence!

Oh, something I would like to change about ALL my horses - I want them all to have naturally mud-repelling fur!

One thing, that's not enough!! I love him to bits, but I'd make him a bit smaller. I'm 5'3'' and he's 16.3hh, so quite a lot of horse for me to hold together! And a long way to fall. And a lot of effort needed to get the saddle on his back! And I'd also make him LOVE his jumping and be a bit braver, as we've had to give that up recently as he's a bit of a chicken when it comes to poles :(

But I love 'im really!!

If I could change one thing about my horse it would be for him to have less attitude in the dressage.

Hmm I have just started riding a new horse and he is lovely, but gets distracted very easily so would probably like him to be more focused - instead of flinging his head up in the air every time someone walks past the school!

I've changed my mind! I'd like him to act more like his actual age, not like a green, barely ridden youngster! He should know better by now!

My horse gets really freaked out by things like little birds and flies in the summer and it's a real pain. So I would make him fly and bird-proof.

His split-personality disorder. God I love him but he can be just plain nuts.
It's a lot like nuts and bolts –
if the rider's nuts, the horse bolts!
