Why did you buy your horse?

I mean, why as in why that particular horse.

I chose mine because he came cantering to my call despite not knowing me and immediately wanted hugs (and headrubs and food ) but he was so friendly and sweet on the ground. He was actually a bit of a git to ride, just testing me out, but he's still got a fab personality and character and I've had him for over 8 years now!

I had a loan horse and although we had our disagreements, usually about going faster than a slow canter or jumping tiny fences, he was such a character. When I first got him, he was not being ridden and had mostly retired. It took a while to get him to trust me but when he did, he was an angel. I couldn't do much with him riding wise, he was 25 and feeling the age a little but out of the school, he was amazing. He was difficult in the beginning, but something about him made me want to carry on working with him. Building a bond with a horse is the best experience in the world and nothing can compare.
