Barrier Equine V1 Virucidal Disinfectant
From Β£31.94 for 1L
We say…
The higher dilution rate than others in the test meant this didnβt go as far as hoped, but it did a great job of neutralising stable odours and had a nice alpine scent. The stables were much more pleasant after a quick spray and the product didnβt take long to work, so we could bed down straight away if needed. Even dirty stables stayed fresh for a few days after use.

Aqueos Stable & Multi-Use Equine Disinfectant
From Β£19.70 for 750ml

The spray bottle with pre-diluted solution was quick and easy to use, producing a fine spray so the floor didnβt get too wet. We could bed down straight away, which was great on busy days. There is an option to buy undiluted versions, too. Despite no obvious fragrance, but it worked well and minimised stable odours instantly, however it only kept very dirty stables fresh for the day.

Anigene Professional Surface Disinfectant Cleaner
From Β£38.46 for 5L

Diluted to 1%, so it lasted a long time. The trigger spray bottle (available separately) was great for application β it created a fine mist that covered the floor without making it too wet. It did a really good job at neutralising smells and ammonia in the stable, although freshness didnβt last as long with very dirty horses. The product dried quickly so we could put the bed back down straight away if needed.

Lincoln Stable Deodoriser
Β£19.99 for 4kg

Comes with a small scoop that made it quick and easy to use β simply sprinkled onto the floor, a little went a long way. The fresh pine smell was lovely and noticeable after application. It helped reduce stable odours quickly but didnβt last very long. When removing deep-littered bed after a few days, we could feel the product was still there, so it wasnβt dissolved easily and seemed to help keep the floor dry. Great product for a quick freshen-up.

Sirocco
Β£52.95 for 25kg

Quick and easy to apply by sprinkling onto the floor. However, the product didnβt come with a scoop and the bag is heavy, and so hard to manoeuvre alone. Not an overpowering smell, but it got rid of the ammonia and other odours straight away. Stables remained fresh for a few days and it seemed to absorb moisture, as usually very dirty stables didnβt seem as bad after use.

Fieldguard Green Gloop
Non-toxic, germicidal sanitiser for concrete and rubber floors. Exceeds EN14349 for veterinary surface disinfectants.
From Β£18.60 for 2L

Diluted in a bucket, then poured onto the floor and scrubbed. Covered a large area, but spray bottle was handy for smaller patches. You can vary the dilution, but the minimum level was effective when used regularly. It has a strong, pleasant smell, and kept ammonia away and stables fresh for a few days. Dried flooring more quickly then when they were washed with just water.
