18yo, 17hh Dutch Warmblood gelding.
Ideal low-level all-rounder for a competent rider.
Very attractive, upstanding gelding who is straight moving and clean limbed. Lovely flatwork, is responsive to his rider’s aids and works in a beautiful outline with great balance, established lateral work. We have taken him to ride in various arenas and he always produces great work without being spooky. Although he hasn’t competed with us, we’re certain that he will produce a beautiful dressage test. We haven’t focused on jumping Tigger, although we have popped him over a few small fences where he showed good technique and rideability.
Hacks out in company, and has been out alone, but does require a confident rider out of the arena. He’s never shown any tendencies to be naughty or nasty, but he can lack confidence passing farm machinery within close proximity. He can be on his toes in company, although he remains mannerly and respectful of his rider. Was sold to us as well hunted, whilst he hasn’t had the opportunity to hunt with us this season, we remain confident that he would be excellent out with a confident jockey.
Tigger travels well, but he can take some time to load alone onto a trailer. (Fine with company) Hasn’t travelled on a lorry with us. Happy to live in or out, doesn’t change if not ridden everyday. He can be a monkey to catch if with a herd, but will follow his friends in and always comes to a bucket. Lovely stable manners, but can be strong to lead to the field. Personally we use a bridle to do this which he respects well. Up to date with vaccinations, dentist and was shod 3weeks ago, he is fully clipped, fit and ready to go.
No novices, I have specified that he can get tense at times out hacking. He needs a light handed kind and confident rider to give him reassurance and consistency. He’s a horse who thrives from routine, kindness and trust.
