Frensham Sponsored Ride 2020

The Hedgehogs of Farnham are holding their third Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride (FSHR) on 3 May 2020, with entries available in advance or on the day. The ride continues to raise thousands of pounds every year to be distributed across local charities and organisations, a trend to be continued this year, as the major beneficiary will be The Riding for the Disabled Assocation. Entries are available online, via post or on the day, and every rider will receive a rosette on completion of the ride.

The Hedgehogs are a local, Farnham-based charity group established in 1959, becoming a registered charity in 2001. Every year they raise money for local organisations and people in the surrounding villages. Last year alone they raised more than £85,000.

This year’s event follows on from the tremendous success of the 2019 Frensham Sponsored Ride, where more than 350 riders enjoyed a jaunt across Frensham Common and privately-owned land. The FSHR is being expanded this year across a 10-mile route, with more jumps. Additionally, the Start Courtyard will have a number of outlets including food, refreshments and a tack shop, as well as displays from the Side Saddle Association. Enjoy beautiful, sandy tracks across the scenic Frensham Common, Tilford and Rushmore with your best friends – equine and human.

Volunteer stewards are on hand for your safety, with radio communication with the base station and access to onsite paramedics. They’ll also man road crossings and obstacles to keep you safe, headed in the right direction and on track for a great day out.
