Ready to start your 2020 showing season off with a bang? Whip out that diary, because the Horse of the Year Show’s (HOYS) has announced that their 2020 showing qualifiers have been added to their website. Look forward to the fun-filled nine-month journey ahead with the hopes of being crowned champion at the HOYS, which this year runs 7–10 October. It includes a full timetable of showing classes in the TopSpec arena, plus 29 show championships to contest.

With qualifiers running up and down the country from March to September, including two extra shows added this year, there’s ample opportunity for you to get out and about for a chance to show at HOYS this year. The Irish Pony Society Championship Show held in Wexford (15–17 August) will host qualifiers for the National Pony Society and Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain and Moorland Connemara Pony of the Year, plus the Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd. Mountain and Moorland Working Hunter Pony of the Year. This will provide Irish competitors with a new qualifying opportunity in addition to those at the Northern Ireland Festival. Not only that, but the Native Breeds Ridden Festival in Carmarthen on Sunday 31 May will hold 15 additional qualifiers, too.

The showing championships will celebrate a huge range of breeds as well as a variety of disciplines, including showjumping, scurry driving and dressage displays.
