Calling all British Riding Club members, now’s the perfect time to sign up to get eventing

From today (Thursday 17 November), British Riding Clubs members who haven’t been a British Eventing (BE) member in the past three years will be able to enjoy a 40% new member discount on an Introductory membership. This fabulous reduction will apply for two years.

This offer comes at an exciting time for any riders wanting to get started with affiliated eventing, as BE launches a number of new initiatives to support those entering into the sport.

The new Anyone Can Event (ACE) series is designed to appeal to riders of all ages and experience, offering classes from 70cm up to 1m. It is an arena-style eventing competition, where riders compete over a course of showjumps followed by a simulated cross-country course of knock-down fences. The series will run throughout winter, providing riders with the opportunity to get out, develop their skills and compete. There’ll be the chance to qualify for the championship finals at Aintree next spring, too.

Members can also enjoy reduced entry fees for BE’s arena eventing series, which culminates at Aston Le Walls as the winter draws to a close ahead of the 2023 season starting.

With the launch of BE’s new regional training programme, which will be delivered via The Howden Way Regional Academy framework, there really couldn’t be a better time to join. Giving riders access to top class training and education within their local BE community, The Howden Way Regional Academies will launch before the end of the year making it a perfect time to consider taking out your first 12-month membership to carry you through the 2023 season.

“We look forward to welcoming Riding Club members into the BE family and to provide them with additional opportunities to participate in our wonderful sport,” said BE Chief Executive, Helen West. “We are here to support all riders make the step into BE as easily as possible and working alongside the team at British Riding Clubs will allow us to do just that.”

Rachael Hollely-Thompson, Head of British Riding Clubs, continued: “British Riding Clubs have seen many of their members enjoy great success with British Eventing – it’s not unknown for our members to qualify for the BE80 or BE90 championships in their first year of competition. Our own competition structure lends itself incredibly well to developing horses and riders to the point where they can confidently step into affiliated competition alongside their ongoing activities with both their own club and nationally with BRC.”
