New eventing team challenge for grassroots riders

Posted in News

Are you keen for a new grassroots eventing challenge this season? Available at BE80(T) and BE90 Open level, the British Eventing (BE) Team Challenge has been introduced ready for 2020. This innovative event allows riders to pick their own teams and compete in one of 10 qualifiers across the country for the chance to win a place at the Rowen Barbary Team Challenge Championship at Weston Park (2) in October.

While you’ll need to be a member of BE to compete, all the qualifiers can be entered on a Day Pass. To compete at the championships, you’ll need to be a full member or have a valid half or full Season Ticket.

To start with, you’ll need to get your team of three or four horse and rider combinations together and elect a team captain. Once you’ve organised your team, you can apply to enter the qualifier of your choice – applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis, so make sure you get ahead of the game. If you’re accepted into your qualifier, make your entry as soon as the event opens. You’ll be given the option to enter into the designated qualifier section as an individual, and you’ll need to state your team on the entry form.

The BE80(T) qualifying dates are…

  • 4–5 July Bicton (2), Devon
  • 18–19 July Warwick Hall (3), Cumbria
