Following the success of last year’s clipping evenings, renowned Olympian and champion event rider, Ian Stark OBE, will conduct three more equine clipping workshops at Carrs Billington’s Gisburn, Penicuik and Ayr stores during November, in partnership with Heiniger clippers.
Ian Stark, who enjoyed an illustrious career spanning 20 years, has amassed a large collection of medals, notably at the World and European Equestrian Championships and the Olympic Games, including six silver medals for Great Britain during his Olympic career.
He’ll host three live clipping workshops that aim to provide helpful hints and tips on how to get the best clip for your horse, and will include advice on clipper care and maintenance, oiling the hand piece and blades and applying the correct tension. Refreshments will be provided after each demonstration, and there will also be the opportunity for attendees to put questions directly to Ian.
All attendees will receive a Heiniger goody bag, which will include a useful hints and tips guide on how to achieve the perfect clip for their horse.
Ian Chapman, Marketing Executive at Cox and Ritchey, said, ‘These clipping evenings were a great success last year and helped those who attended to learn some valuable techniques from one of the most respected figures in champion eventing. Ian’s demonstrations provided hands on advice for those seeking new ways to become more confident, more proficient and ultimately learn new techniques.’
Jeremy, Neate Marketing Manager for Carrs Billington, added, ‘We’re delighted that Ian Stark has joined Carrs Billington for our equine clipping demonstrations. Last year’s workshops were a great way for our customers to gain valuable knowledge on obtaining the best clip for their horse. Ian is very approachable and provides valuable insights on clipping methodology, and is happy to answer questions from our customers. The events were a great learning opportunity and also entertaining. We’re very pleased to be able to offer this event again, with the support of Heiniger’.
