I found the leather was protective but really soft, and the anatomical shape provided comfort and freedom of movement. I liked the central part, which is wide for extra protection when jumping. The central D-ring is covered with a leather panel that fastens with Velcro and this kept the ring clean and safe. I thought the roller buckles seemed really sturdy and fitted well. I tested this in brown, which was a lovely shade, and I liked the subtle but smart branding. It was easy to clean, too. I loved this girth and would recommend it. It is pricey but I think it will last and will keep my horse comfortable.Â
How much do you know about stereotypies? This is the scientific term for any repetitive behaviour. In horses, the most common are crib-biting, windsucking, weaving and box walking. In May Horse&Rider, Dr Debbie Marsden shares her advice for dealing with stereotypic behaviours. Check out a sneak peek here. www.horseandrideruk.com/the-magazine/issues/may-2024/force-of-habit/...
