We say…

Smart looking boots with a snug fit that became comfortable after a few wears. Good height that didn’t catch on the back of the knees. The full-length side zip was great for getting the boots on and off. Didn’t leak. The sturdy top popper prevented the zip coming undone and has stood up well to regular use. Cushioned footbed is great for long days on your feet. The tread offered superb grip in all weathers. More expensive than I’d usually go for, but they have great features and keep your feet warm and dry, so warrant the price tag.

Light and flexible, they offered a great fit despite not being adjustable. Provided plenty of support. Really impressed with the warmth as I usually suffer with cold feet. The footbed was so comfy and springy, great for long-distance walking and prolonged use. They grip well in muddy conditions and the heel feels solid and balanced. Showing no signs of wear. Easy to slip on but can be harder to get off. Well worth the money if you’re planning on wearing them regularly for long periods of time and suffer from the cold.

Comfy boots with a supportive fit around the ankle, which prevented them from pulling off in the mud. Very robust around the heel and toe. True to size fit. Bulkier than some boots but provided warmth and protection. The tread provided decent traction and reduced slipping. Great for tough, outdoor jobs with a cushioned footbed that meant you could wear them all day. A good length in the leg and the top collar stopped the worst of the bedding and hay falling into the boots. Easy to clean.

Found the sizing to be slightly on the generous size. Nice to have the choice of stand and more vibrant colour options. Stood up well to regular wear with no signs of unexpected damage. Kept feet really warm – if you suffer from cold feet these will really help you out in freezing temperatures. Comfortable and very grippy, making them excellent for walking on all surfaces even wet grass and mud. Have proven to be hard wearing and versatile but best suited to colder conditions.

Comfortable boots even after long periods. Didn’t need wearing in. Easy to get on and off. Shorter in height than some but still offered protection from the wet and mud, although would’ve preferred a taller boot for carrying out yard jobs. There are some small signs of wear to the tread but overall they’ve stood up well to mucking out and long-distance walking/ They were quite warm, which made them more suitable to colder temperatures. Simple to clean, you can wash off the rubber boots and brush over the neoprene upper.

Traditional style of boots that are easy to slip on and off. The supple leather and elastic sides allowed total freedom of movement while fully supporting the ankle. The sole offered great grip and the lining was breathable so feet didn’t get too hot. They’ve been worn daily for yard work and riding and still look smart with a quick clean. Felt a bit pricier than similar styles on the market but they’re versatile.

Great looking boots that are true to size, but needed a little bit of breaking in. The zip was sturdy and made getting the boots on and off easier. They’ve kept their shape well. Smart enough for competitions as well as everyday use. Offered good ankle support due to the high elasticated sides. Comfortable enough to be worn on the yard. Have worn well and clean up like new.

Super comfy with no need to break in. The handy leather heel pull was brilliant for getting the boots on and off easily. The sole had sufficient grip for use on the yard without affecting the feel in the stirrup. The elasticated sides allowed for a close fit that ensured there were no pressure points around the ankle. An everyday boot that’s smart enough for competitions.

Nice looking boots with stylish side and toe detailing. Didn’t need breaking in and were comfortable to wear on the yard and in the saddle, offering good ankle support without being restrictive or uncomfortable. Front zip design allows you to easily get the boots on and off and the zip is sturdy enough to stand up to everyday use. Smart enough for competition use, too.

Perfect for long days at the yard. Used for riding, yard work and dog walking. The fleece lining kept feet warm on the colder days, but didn’t make them too hot either when the temperature rose. Tight to get on to start with, but improved with use. Offered great grip on the yard and in the saddle. Good quality for the price and would recommend them for someone looking for a pair of sturdy, warm all-round boots.

Impressed with the smart look of the boots. Proved very versatile – suitable for riding and yard work. The soft leather was comfortable and didn’t rub. The front zip was sturdy and made getting the boots on and off easier. Easy to clean even after a day of chores on the yard. They are smart enough for competitions but comfortable and durable enough for everyday use in and out of the saddle.

Very stylish boots that are true to size. Great for everyday use but would be smart enough for competition, too. Needed a minimal break-in period, however super comfortable after this point – could wear them all day long. Offered excellent grip in the saddle and on the yard and now my go-to boots. A fairly high price point, but the quality justifies the cost.

Very different in design and appearance to classic short riding boots. The knitted cuff needed a bit of effort to pull over your foot, but once on they were very comfortable. No breaking in needed due to the close fit of the material. Cushioned sole made them feel like trainers. Stable and secure in the stirrup while riding, though we’d recommend pairing with chaps.

Well-padded jacket with a generous yet feminine cut. Super-warm, but breathable enough for riding. Softshell side inserts enhance comfort and the trim looks smart. It’s perfect for long winter show days.

Very attractive boots that performed well despite a modest price tag. Feet stayed warm and dry in all conditions and the sole was sturdy enough for long walks. Generous around calf and overall great value.

Lace-up style allows for a variety of calf widths. Fleece lining was extremely cosy and length is perfect for shorter legs. A comfy walking boot that kept water and mud out, as well as performing well on the yard.

Striking design and, once broken in, were super-comfy and moulded to the wearer. Totally waterproof and even stood up to jet washing. Ideal for yard chores and long walks. Not the warmest boot, so suited to an active wearer.

Durable with a great, grippy sole. Give plenty of room around the leg with a looser fit at the ankle. Thick-soled and super-insulating, though they took some breaking in. Great for cold days on the yard and winter walking.

Took no wearing in and have an exceptionally comfortable sole. A joy to wear, with generous width due to elasticated full-length rear panels. Offered fantastic grip and tackled mud, puddles and yard chores perfectly.

Well-made boots with a moisture-wicking lining. Totally waterproof with great grip and a zip with a sizeable tab. Slim-fit calf, looser round the ankle with good foot support. Overall, they were comfortable and functional.

Beautiful boots that could be dressed up, but were also waterproof, comfy and sturdy for long, muddy walks. The breathable, cushioned sole had plenty of grip. Stood up to daily wear and all yard chores. Pricey, but worth it.

A unique style, but smart and well-made with a buckle fastening. With a looser fit, they’re warm, comfortable and waterproof for shorter walks and trips to the pub. Look good as new after a quick wipe over.

Didn’t need wearing in and were effective in the wettest conditions. Outer is durable and the lining kept feet toasty. Stood up to prolonged yard use and were comfy on country walks. A well-made, high-performing boot.

Great value, tough and breathable. Stylish, grippy in the stirrup and comfy in the saddle, the fit was brilliant around the calf. Rubbed a little when worn for longer walks, but were perfect for around the yard.

After a breaking-in period, through which they’re best worn with thick socks, they performed well. Extremely comfortable and held their shape despite lots of wear. Waterproof, sturdy and suitable for longer walks.

Attractive design with a sturdy sole that’s warm and waterproof, ideal for yard use. Boots dropped around the ankle but didn’t lose much height. The solid rim at the back of the knee makes them ideal for longer legs.

“If you want a touch of pizazz in your wardrobe, these are the boots for you. Sizing runs slim and quite tall, and I spent time breaking them in properly so they’d stay snug once softened. This was worth it, though – they’ve remained fitted around the ankle, but are still flexible. The grippy stretch panel aids fit and is useful in the rain. They started out gorgeous but, with appropriate care, their appearance is actually improving over time. They’re definitely an investment, but one that doesn’t scrimp on quality or style.”

“I love these boots. They’re  extremely comfortable and quickly moulded to my feet. They fitted well from the start and only needed a couple of wears to break in. Combined with the soft leather, this meant they never rubbed or made me sore, even if I wore them all day. The details and fastenings are still in perfect condition, although the leather has creased slightly at the ankle. I think they’re super-smart and striking – I often received compliments when out and about. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase them again.”

“These boots are sleek and stylish. They fitted well and were comfortable from the get-go, although I needed a narrower width than the size chart suggested. The fit around my leg has stayed snug and the ankles haven’t significantly dropped. I could wear them happily all day on the yard and in the saddle, and was even able to drive in them. I’d have preferred them to be a bit more water-resistant, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again in the future – not that I think they’ll need replacing any time soon, as they still clean up as good as new!” 

“These boots were comfortable to walk and ride in, and I felt I had a close contact with my horse. They didn’t require a breaking in period, as the leather is so soft, and maintained their shape really well with boot trees. The zip at the back seems quite sturdy, and the poppers and laces are still in good condition. The height and foot size of the boots are perfect, but the calf width came up a little bigger then expected. They’re lovely boots and everyone has commented how smart they look.”

“My favourite thing about these boots is how comfortable yet elegant they are, setting them apart from most others I’ve worn. The cushioned footbed makes them almost as comfy as trainers to wear all day, while the supple leather gives them a slim, smart fit. They required no breaking in, but did drop after a few weeks, leaving them with more bulk around the ankles. I like the zip covers, which keep the zip clean. Overall I think they strike a great balance between comfort, style and value.”

“These boots were comfortable from day one – in fact, they’ve ruined me for anything else! I wore them for riding and general yard duties without any problems. They only needed a quick wipe-over to look great, even after being covered in mud. I’m usually between short and regular length, but as these boots were so soft I could take the regular length, meaning they were perfect after they dropped slightly. For the price, I think they’re great and would recommend them without hesitation.”

“These boots were comfortable for riding and I could walk in them straight away without any rubbing. I like that they’re lightweight, and they don’t interfere with my leg contact or feel bulky in the stirrup. The elastic panel makes them easy to put on and ensures they move with you as your leg bends. Through regular wear and cleaning, the leather has become lovely and soft and, while there are a few wrinkles at the ankle, it hasn’t stretched or sagged. They still look super-smart, especially after a polish.”

“I usually struggle to find long boots in my size, but these fit really well. The supple leather meant I could put them on and ride without the need to break them in. They’re comfy to ride in and helped to encourage a better ankle position, but I could still walk around the yard and at shows. They polished up really well, looking like new in no time. They’ve wrinkled slightly down the leg, but this hasn’t affected their use and they still look smart. I’m really pleased with these boots and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another pair.”

“I was able to ride in the boots straight away because they’re so supple, and the suede helped to keep my lower leg still, too. Unfortunately, they rubbed where the upper meets the foot section, and it was a few weeks before I was truly comfortable walking in them. The soft leather fits snugly around your leg, but the lack of a leather lining means they need boot trees to keep their shape. The leather polishes up well, while a suede brush tidies up the calves. For the price, they’re a budget boot that looks the part.” 

“These boots were very comfortable for riding or wearing around the yard, although they took a week or two of regular wear to break in due to their close fit. They looked smart and stylish, and I found they were easy to keep clean. Although the poppers on the zip guards could occasionally come undone, this didn’t get in the way or affect how well I could use my leg while riding. Overall, I think they’re practical, entry-level leather boots that perform well, and I feel the price is very reasonable.”

“I liked the style of these boots and the soft leather didn’t restrict my calf like some others have done. They were a great fit, but took a week to break in around the ankles, as they could rub a bit. Once I’d worn them a couple of times, though, they were really comfy. As well as schooling, they looked the part at competitions and held up to walking around the showground all day. They were easy to keep clean, with robust fastenings and tough soles. For the price, they’re smart, versatile boots.”

They’ve maintained their shape and were easy to clean with regular boot polish. The zip ran smoothly, and they were easy to put on and take off. It’s worth trying them on before purchasing, as there are limited height and width options, and I found the ankle quite generous. Overall they’re a comfortable boot for a very reasonable price.”

They have a thick sole with good grip, so I felt confident walking through muddy fields. They kept my feet warm and dry, and that’s the most important thing for me on the yard during winter. They’re great as a practical yard boot, but don’t look particularly stylish!”

“I was very pleased with the quality of these wellies. I’ve worn them every day and they aren’t showing any signs of wear. I drove in them, too, which I’ve found often causes splits where the toes bend, but had no problem with these boots. I liked the adjustable sides as I could let them out to fit bulkier trousers. The sole was comfortable from the start, with a good grip, and I didn’t need a wearing-in period. They cleaned up easily and are completely waterproof. They are quite tall – I am 5ft 7in and felt the fit would be better if they were a few centimetres shorter in the leg.”

“I loved these boots! They are so stylish and comfortable, and I had lots of nice comments when I was wearing them. They fitted really well from the start, without causing any rubs or discomfort. The leather is excellent quality and they are beautifully made. I wore them a lot, both for riding and with casual wear at events and competitions. The zip was strong and sturdy, and did up easily, and the popper at the top kept it secure, which was great when I was using them for riding. Although the price of these boots is high, I would still recommend them as they’re so versatile.”

“These boots were very comfortable to wear and didn’t rub my feet at all. I mainly used them on the yard and for walking my dogs in the rain, as they had good grip in the wet. They’re pretty stylish for wellingtons, so I was happy to wear them if I needed to pop into town after being at the yard – after giving them a quick wash down with the hose they looked as good as new. They are made of good-quality materials, so they are brilliant value for money. Personally, I loved the electric blue colour, but it might not be the first choice for everyone.”

“The boots were true to size and very comfy from day one. Because of the zip and handles, they’re very easy to pull on and off. I was pleased that they kept my feet dry on rainy days, but they aren’t totally waterproof because of the zip. They were fantastic for yard work, had good grip in the mud and kept my feet comfortable all day. In warmer weather, I found them to be breathable. I also really like that they’re smart enough to wear away from the yard. I wasn’t sure about the style to begin with, but the comfort and quality is excellent.”

“The boots were true to size, and I was particularly pleased that they come in half sizes. They took a little getting used to as they’re quite robust, so feel heavier than other boots. The grip was fantastic on muddy walks and around the yard. They’ve worn well, with no slouching, and after a clean look as good as new. They’re neoprene-lined so are lovely on cold days, and kept my feet warm and dry, although on warmer days, even though they are moisture-wicking, I found them a bit too hot. They’re functional and do their job well, but didn’t feel very stylish.”

“The boots were very comfy, and I was happy to wear them for hours. I’ve worn them through downpours and walking around wet fields, and they were absolutely waterproof. They would be good for yard work, but they’re so nice that I have kept them for walks and horsey days out. They are expensive, but because of the top quality materials and technology they feel like a reasonable buy – especially as they look like they will last for years. It would be good to have the option of different calf fittings. The drawstring tightens them, but people with slimmer calves possibly wouldn’t get the look they were after.”

“These boots were true to size and a good fit. I especially liked the lacing down the side, which allowed for a larger calf and still looked stylish. They were comfortable right from the start and I had no rubs or blisters at all. I used them mainly for yard work, walking and light hacking. They are completely waterproof and, despite getting covered in mud, brushed up really well and looked good as new. They have a sweat control lining, which worked well and kept my feet from getting too hot. Because of the good design and comfort, I felt they were good value for money. I found that the grip wasn’t quite as good on very muddy ground, but on sand and firmer ground they were great.”

“The boots didn’t need any breaking in and were comfy immediately. The zip was easy to do up and I liked the reflective piping. I get really cold feet in the winter, but the fleecy lining in the foot and the neoprene leg kept me warm and cosy. The rubber part was easy to clean, and the sole was nice and grippy on the yard and in the mud. They were comfortable to ride in, too, and the reinforced panel on the inside to protect the neoprene worked well. Although the appearance isn’t to my taste, in terms of comfort and performance they are excellent value for money. The neoprene part was hard to clean, especially when removing the grease from my horse’s coat.”

“The boots were true to size and really comfy from day one. I’ve worn them on walks, on the yard and in all weather conditions, and they have kept my feet dry and comfortable. They’ve held their shape well and I was pleased that they haven’t slouched too much. Personally, I wouldn’t ride in them because of the ridged sole, but they are good for yard work and stylish enough to be worn for smarter country days out. I found that the inner soles tended to come out when I took them off and although I like the lace drawstring feature, it’s very thin and the bow slips undone.”

“I found these boots came up quite big. However, I liked that in colder weather I could wear thick socks without them being too tight. I get very cold feet, so I really liked that they had a fleece lining. They were comfortable from the start and are totally waterproof. I even wore them wading through a river and had no problems with wet feet. They have a good heel for riding, but I found the foot a bit chunky for my stirrups. The sole was tough and they had good grip in the mud. I found they were quite wide around the calf, so I had to close the straps as tight as possible for a good fit. They also slouched down a bit more than I would expect.”

I washed my car, walked my dog through wet, muddy fields and bathed my horse in them, and impressively my feet stayed perfectly dry. The thick tread was great for walking through muddy fields and they were breathable, so no hot, sweaty feet. I’ve worn them nearly every day and they’re still as good as new. I wouldn’t change anything. I love the style, height of the boot and how comfortable they are.”

They are waterproof – I’ve hosed them off lots of times after walking through muddy fields and never had wet feet. I like that they are smart enough and comfy enough for outdoor days out. They are quite expensive, but have a good sole for grip and comfort, and haven’t slouched, either, so I feel they’re an investment that is worth the cost. I wouldn’t have chosen a mid-length boot, but I actually found that they were more versatile and looked smarter than I expected.”
