Looking after your horse’s joint health is essential to help ensure he can live a full and active life. If a dietary supplement is on your shopping list, the choice can feel overwhelming. While there is some evidence that certain ingredients – including chondroitin sulphate, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid (HA), methyl sulphonyl methane (MSM) and omega 3 – can support joint health, not all sources of ingredients are of equal quality, and some are more bioavailable for the horse than others. The level of main ingredients within the maintenance dose of your chosen product is also important to consider, so compare the nutritional breakdowns your product shortlist to understand what you’re paying for.
