Felix Bühler Liberty Combination System turnout rug
We say…
The rug fitted perfectly on my warmblood, who’s quite deep in the shoulder. I used the system all winter – even in the worst weather – it’s stayed waterproof. The mesh liner was particularly useful in warmer weather, and I appreciated being able to use it alone, as a cooler rug, too. All the liners attached securely front and back, and the extra gussets had elastic inserts for extra movement. I washed the liners several times and they all came out brilliantly, with no damage or wear to the fixings. It didn’t cause any rubs on the shoulders or withers, but the neck opening wasn’t huge, so it’s possibly more suited to a lighter framed horse, to give extra space when grazing. It’s great value for a system that can be used year round.
How much do you know about stereotypies? This is the scientific term for any repetitive behaviour. In horses, the most common are crib-biting, windsucking, weaving and box walking. In May Horse&Rider, Dr Debbie Marsden shares her advice for dealing with stereotypic behaviours. Check out a sneak peek here. www.horseandrideruk.com/the-magazine/issues/may-2024/force-of-habit/...
