Overview
Grovewood Rio is looking for a new forever home. Unfortunately I am not able to put in the consistent 1-on-1 time with him whilst I’m studying at uni.
As I am not the most experienced rider his education has been fairly slow, all his basics are there; lunging, walk, trot, canter, some leg yield, small jumps.
Hacks alone and in company well when in regular and consistent work. Although can get excitable and sharp when he hasn’t been ridden consistently
(He has bolted with me once after being stung by a bee on his chest which scared him).
That said, he’s always been in a snaffle. Responds best to seat, voice and legs like most Andalusians.
Would suit an experienced rider who understands sharp Andalusians (although he can be very lazy when he wants to!). No see-sawing hands or spurs please.
In his current home we have done dressage, a little jumping, hacking and couple of working equitation clinics.
He has also been used by a university equestrian team for jumping and dressage which he thoroughly enjoyed.
NOT SUITABLE FOR NOVICE, NERVOUS OR FIRT TIME OWNERS, he can become cheeky when he gets bored and so requires a rider that can keep his mind stimulated. He can get excited when jumping but has never refused, so with the right person I’m sure he would make a great allrounder.
Good to tack up, bathe etc.
He hasn’t travelled at all since being with me and I don’t have a trailer or box to practice with so I expect loading might need encouragement or work.
He is short in the back so can only take a maximum 16.5″ saddle.
He can come with his Deuber und Partner saddle for extra. It is a fully adjustable working equitation saddle
