Organisers of the international event today (20 March) announced its cancellation, citing public health guidelines
The equestrian calendar has suffered another blow as organisers announced the decision to cancel Badminton Horse Trials.
In a statement published on the website, organisers said government’s decision to withdraw emergency services from supporting mass gatherings means it is “no longer possible to stage Badminton Horse Trials between 6–10 May in any capacity.”
It was also confirmed that the Science Supplements Cup, as well as the CCI5* fixture, is no longer going ahead.
Organisers apologised for delaying the announcement, adding, “the health and safety of all those that attend and are involved with Badminton remains our number one priority. Please be assured that Badminton Horse Trials operates a refund policy and we will be in contact shortly with more information on how these will be processed accordingly.”
