First Eco Voltz League allows riders to build new goals for 2024

Following the success of its 2023 league series, BEDE Events has confirmed a new Eco Voltz League that allows horse-and-rider combinations to compete across multiple levels.  The idea behind the new series is to enable combinations to traverse the levels of eventing throughout the season and still be competitive in a league, rather than limiting their point accumulations to single levels.

The new league requires riders to register in advance, via the BEDE website, and offers competitors the chance to collect points until the Shelford (2) 2024 event. The overall winner will be announced at Osberton International 2024, with the prize being an Eco Voltz Electric Bike sponsorship package for the 2025 season.

The addition of the league is aimed to create increased loyalty to British Eventing and BEDE fixtures, while creating a pathway to the end-of-season international classes at Osberton.

Investec Intermediate League winner Katie Patrick said: “We go to all the BEDE events, so when I saw the league, it was really interesting and became something to aim for. It was a shame I didn’t get to do the CCI3*-L at Osberton this year, but it gives me a goal for next season.”

With BEDE Events awarded an additional international fixture for Osberton, as a replacement for the cancelled Rockingham Castle event, competitors will have increased opportunity to gain points for the leagues.

The additional Osberton International fixture will run from the 3–5 May and will feature CCI2*-S and CC3*-S classes and several key changes are to be introduced for this new spring event.

Tickets for BEDE’s Eventing Spring Carnival, at Thoresby Park, are already on sale at ‘early bird’ prices. To book or register for the league, visit bede-events.co.uk
