Qualification is now open for Dressage Anywhere and British Dressage’s (BD) online competition series

You don’t have to leave the yard to compete – all you need is a smartphone and an arena. That’s Dressage Anywhere’s message, an online dressage competition venue. With monthly competitions for all riders, Dressage Anywhere has just announced that qualification for the 2020 British Dressage Equetech Online Championships is open from now until the end of September 2020.

The Championship series, sponsored by equestrian clothing company Equetech, is open to riders from Introductory to Advanced Medium with classes offered monthly. To qualify for the Championship competition, to be held after the qualification period, riders must receive three scores of 60% of above at the same level.

Dressage Anywhere’s mission is to make dressage accessible to everyone, and the BD Online Championships gives riders the chance to compete without leaving the yard – they simply film the test and upload it to the website, where it’s judged by a List 1, 2 or specialist judge. Once the test has been judged, a scoresheet is available for download.

Linda Whetstone, Chairman of British Dressage said, “Congratulations to Dressage Anywhere for hosting a Championships that’s accessible to literally any dressage rider in the world with an arena and a mobile phone or video camera, many of whom might never have dreamed that such an opportunity would ever be available to them”.

Nereide Goodman of Dressage Anywhere said, ‘We’re delighted to be hosting these Online Championships for British Dressage for the seventh year. By creating opportunities for so many riders to compete and receive feedback from experienced judges, we’re further fulfilling our mission to make the sport of dressage accessible to all.’
