Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity has been shortlisted for the prestigious FEI Solidarity Award 2017 by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
Hundreds of nominations for this year’s awards were received by the FEI from all around the world. From these entries, described by the FEI as being of an exceptional calibre, four candidates have been shortlisted in each of the five categories of awards.
For the first time in the history of the FEI Awards, the public can have an impact on the result by casting their votes online. The public vote will determine 50% of the final tally with the remainder being decided by an expert panel of judges. Voting remains open until the 1 October 2017. The winner of each of the five categories will then be announced at the FEI Awards 2017 gala in Montevideo (Uruguay) on 21 November 2017.
James and Rachel Francis, Hannah’s parents and trustees of Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity, said:
“To be shortlisted for the FEI Solidarity award is an unexpected but wonderful honour for the charity. Being recognised in this way on a global stage seems incredible and quite unbelievable but pays true testament to the legacy created by Hannah. We hope now that our friends all over the world can show their support by casting their votes online.”
Willberry Wonder Pony, friend to all and granter of wishes said:
“I feel mighty honoured to have been nominated for this incredible award. Hannah would have been so chuffed, but it just shows how mighty special my best friend is, that we have kept #kickingcancersbutt and bringing the equestrian community together making huge smiles and memories with my Wishes. The support is truly overwhelming.”
