PH Urbane moves to the Horse Trust for specialist care during his recuperation

Urbane, the Metropolitan Police horse who was attacked by a dog in Victoria Park, London, on 22 March, has moved to the Horse Trust in Buckinghamshire to continue his recovery and receive specialist care.

In the attack, which is thought to have involved a dog of the American Bully type, PH Urbane suffered multiple wounds to his chest, body and legs. Despite his horrific injuries, it is hoped that Urbane will make a full recovery, both psychologically and physically.

The Horse Trust is one the oldest equine charities in the UK and it provides specialist care for some of the sickest horses, ponies and donkeys. Chief executive of the charity Jeanette Allen said: “Like all our horses here at the Horse Trust, Urbane is a brave, big-hearted, loveable animal. He has a wonderful character and is incredibly reliable.

“As we have specialist skills in caring for police horses, we are honoured to be entrusted with Urbane’s ongoing recovery, which will be administered with expert care by our staff and volunteers and supported by kind donations from the public.”
