Regimental Mascot, Cruachan the 3rd Earns Promotion

Posted in News

Cruachan the 3rd, the mascot of The Royal Regiment of Scotland based at Redford Barracks, Edinburgh, earned the promotion from Lance Corporal to Corporal recently. Cruachan’s a Shetland pony and a household name synonymous with the Royal Regiment of Scotland. His usual trick of eating Her Majesty The Queen’s posy when she visits Scotland has won over the hearts of millions across the globe.

Pony Major Mark Wilkinson is responsible for Cruachan’s upkeep, behaviour, training. He’s formed a strong bond with such a famous Shetland pony, and the pair of them travel the length and breadth of the UK for Cruachan’s appearance at many ceremonial events.
