On 2nd and 3rd March 2024, the NEC will host the second National Equine Show – so make sure your calendar is blocked out and your tickets are ordered!

The launch event in 2023 was a huge success with over 10,000 people registered to come and join the fun over the two days, and this year’s event is set to be even bigger and better. What’s more, it’s a great way to get your horsey ‘fix’ after a long, wet winter, before the show and competition really starts!

As you come through the doors, you’ll find yourself immersed in a world of everything equestrian. Whether you’re looking to listen to inspirational equestrians share their story, learn about what’s new in the industry, have a go at a range of different horsey activities through the experience zones, meet up with friends, or simply shop until you drop, the National Equine Show has it covered. Let’s take a closer look…

Bucket loads of inspiration

The National Equine Show knows how important inspiration is for every rider, and if you head over to the Inspiration Stage, hosted by Rosie Tapner, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from, listen to, and maybe even get your questions answered by the celebrity riders and influencers coming to the show. So far, dressage superstar Charlotte Dujardin, Paralympic dressage rider Natasha Baker OBE, social media influencer and event rider Megan Elphick, horse trainer and equestrian performer Freddy Steele, holistic health and fitness coach Karzan Hughes, and International Para dressage rider and content creator Tegan Vincent-Cooke are signed up with more riders joining the schedule all the time.

A chance to learn

The second stage at the National Equine Show is the Skills Theatre. This space is all about learning and brings together thought leaders and experts about subjects that really make a difference to them and their horses. This theatre will be presented by Rhea Freeman and the schedule is looking very exciting. Watch the website as speakers and talks are announced, but to whet your appetite, last year’s line up included talks on safety, mindset, saddlery, influencers, and advice on subjects including responsible worming and equine equipment. These sessions also have question and answer opportunities, so it’s a great place to get your queries answered by the very best people for the job.

Retail therapy

If you love to shop, you’re going to adore the National Equine Show! The event brings together stands from all over the country, with 100s of brands between them, covering everything from jumps to jewellery, mindset to massage products, saddlery to supplements, coaching to clothing, grooming to gloves, feed to photography, bedding to buckets, horseboxes to horse rugs and so, so much more. You’ll also find delicious cakes and tasty treats across the show too. And you’ll find the Horse & Rider and PONY team there too!

Try something new

One of the great things about the National Equine Show is the many interactive zones you’ll find around the event. Experiences are delivered in all kinds of different ways- some hands on ‘have a go’ and others through technology such as mechanical horses and virtual reality headsets. The 2024 show will see The Dressage Experience, a Rider Wellness Zone, The Polyjumps Eventer Experience, The Rider Zone with PB Movement and The Dressage Coach, The Mindset Zone with Flying Changes Mindset, The Therapy Pony Zone with Lunar Eclipse, and The Yard Supplement Pavilion sponsored by The Equestrian Index. Even if you’re bringing a non-horsey pal or family member, the chances are they’ll love these interactive elements.

A chance to meet your favourites

The National Equine Show provides plenty of opportunities to meet and greet your favourite riders and influencers too. Last year, the Meet & Greet was a huge success with people getting the chance to say hello to, have their picture taken with, or even get an autograph from their favourite. The 2024 schedule is look great too!

Is it expensive?

With the programme, stages and experiences available at the National Equine Show, you might think it would be expensive to get in, but that isn’t the case. In fact, the team behind the show never want price to be a barrier for this event, as you can see in the pricing. Standard tickets are just £10 per day or £18 for the weekend with children under 16 attending for free. To take things up to the next level, there’s the VIP experience. This is £60 for adults and £40 for children per day as it includes so many extras such as goody bags, free tea and coffee all day, a glass of fizz (over 18 only) on arrival, access to the VIP lounge at the show and lots more too.

Want to get involved? Maybe you’d like to be an ambassador for the show?

The National Equine Show works with a select number of ambassadors to help share what’s great about the show with their audience and beyond. Being an ambassador has lots of perks such as behind the scenes access, but as ambassadors really are part of the team, there’s a bit more to it than just free tickets! “The National Equine Show offers something for all riders, of all abilities,” said Liz Ormesher, Event Director of The National Equine Show. “We wanted to create a show that filled a gap in the equestrian events calendar and could help people be more inspired and prepared for the season that lay ahead. As a horse owner myself, I also like to have things to look forward to that don’t involve rain and mud coming out of the winter, and the show is perfectly timed for that! Last year’s show was excellent and the feedback from our visitors really was superb- and this year it’s going to be even better. We update our website regularly with new features, speakers, partners and more… you can find out about event and book your tickets with ease online. We can’t wait to see you there!”
